IIT Madras Starts Admissions for M.Tech Course 2013:Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has started admissions to Master of Technology (M.Tech) course commencing in the session 2013.Courses offered are:
Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics,Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering,Ocean Engineering, Physics Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry . Secondly, interdisciplinary programmes in Catalysis Technology, Nuclear Engg and Petroleum Engg and M.Tech in clinical Engg.
Eligibility Criteria:
a)Candidates must possess Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or equivalent discipline from recognized university. Candidates obtained degrees through Distance education/ Correspondence mode, the Departments will follow interview procedure for screening in such cases.
b)Candidates must have qualified in GATE 2012 or 2013.
Assistantship:
Candidates who have taken admission for M.Tech course 2013 will be offered Half-time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) of Rs 8,000/- on monthly basis. Admission to few additional candidates who are merit list may be offered without HTTA. They may get HTTA after 6 months depending upon the vacancy.

Application fee :
Candidates under general category need to pay Rs 200/- and candidates under SC/ST/PD category need to pay Rs.100/- with DD drawn in favor of 'The Registrar, IIT Madras', payable at Chennai should be sent to below address.
